Last year was my fifth wedding anniversary. Since this a major milestone for any couple, I wanted to make sure that my wife and I did something special to celebrate. I looked at a lot of different trips, and ended up choosing a trip to Austria. It took a lot of work to keep the trip a secret, but being able to surprise my wife with such a great trip felt very good.

Since it was just the two of us going to Austria, I planned a special trip down the Austrian Romantic Road. Our trip took us through a variety of romantic destinations, including the Salzkammergut Lake District, the alpine foothills, the Danube regions of Strudengau and Nibelungengau and the Wachau Valley. Not only was the scenery along this trip quite amazing, but all of the places we stopped at made us feel very welcome and special.

Because this trip involved a lot of driving, I made sure to get a rental car that we were both comfortable in. Although we got a great rental car that had plenty of space for both of us, you would be surprised at how little I paid for it.
