The Austrian Alps Vacation

Many people think of several things to do in Austria that are really relaxing. One of these is camping in the Alps. Of course, this is not something that an amateur enthusiast of camping should do, but if you’re lucky, you can visit the Alps during a time period when you can see a beautiful mountainscape and enjoy the quiet and tranquil atmosphere that the great Alps offer. You can really have a wonderful time there on your own or with family and friends there when you take a trip to Austria. You will only need simple directions to get there and you will most likely be able to see the alps from far off so getting lost is not really possible when you have a great sense of direction. The Alps should not be camped on all the time, but when it is possible you should really give it a try.

To ensure that you are able to make your way to such a great location when in Austria, it is important that you have a reliable mode of transportation that you could use. This often calls for a car rental option and will provide you with plenty of great amenities that you would not have traveling on foot there. Of course if you just want to see the great Alps up close, you still need to get there and a car rental option can really get you there in less time than other options. Make sure that you get a great low rate on your car rental needs in Austria by booking online and taking advantage of the largest selection of vehicles available to you for great low pricing on your travel dates.

What’s Good to Eat in Austria?

Like Anthony Bourdain, one of my favorite things about visiting a new place is the food that they have their. While I understand that some people simply don’t have adventurous tastes, I simply can’t imagine visiting somewhere new and not trying any of the food that the locals love. I understand that you’re probably not going to love one hundred percent of the new food that you try, but in my opinion, one of the best feelings in the world is when you discover something that you have never tried before and you think it tastes absolutely delicious.

So, as you’re cruising around Austria in your rental car, what should you be thinking about eating? Well, if you are there during the winter time, you have to try some of the potato fritters and hot chestnuts that you can find on the street corner stands. Sure, these stands don’t look that impressive, but once you take a bite of the food they are serving, you will be hooked.

Another thing you have to try in Austria (and I recommend eating it at different places because it’s so good) is the sausage. If you are from America like I am, then let me tell you that regardless of what you have had here, you haven’t really tried sausage until you have eaten it in Austria.

Also, if you have a sweet tooth, you will love Austria thanks to all of the cakes and other desserts that they have to offer. Some of the most popular are chocolate cake, fruit-filled dumplings, hot apple strudel and sweet pancakes.
